Hopefully everyone has had a productive and blessed start to 2018. Thank you to everyone who has followed us over the past year. Every like, comment, and ‘Theorycraft’ post you share encourages us to produce more content. Here is a look at the future of Nerd Econ as we move forward in 2018.

Shorter Theorycraft Articles

Theorycraft articles are easily the bread and butter of our website. They were the genesis for Nerd Econ and let us explore the worlds many of us love. However the length of the articles can be intimidating and ultimately steal a little of the joy from learning about Star Wars or Game of Thrones. We want people to learn about economics and business in a fun and engaging way without being turned off by a wall of text. Don’t worry, this change doesn’t mean we will be sacrificing quality or the depth of our analysis. Instead…

More Frequent Updates

Our goal is to provide new content every week. To facilitate this effort, rather than posting one long article for a topic, we will be breaking them up into smaller posts. Our past Theorycraft articles have been organized in sections that dive into individual parts of the topic. In 2018, each section or two will be its own post, with several posts comprising a complete look at a topic. This will allow us to better manage research time, update Nerd Econ more regularly, and make our content more approachable.

Updating the Website

Nerd Econ will also undergo a number of minor updates. First and foremost is ensuring our readers can subscribe to receive email updates whenever an article is posted. Of course we encourage everyone to like our Facebook page; but, since Facebook favors posts with a high engagement you may not see all our updates (hey, it's tough competing against memes: maybe there will be a Nerd Econ Meme Page in the future). We will also review some of our earlier Theorycraft Articles and organize them in our new, multi-part post format. Finally, the website may undergo some aesthetic changes. While we love the minimalist design, if you go on the website via a computer you can see there is currently a lot of unused space.
